LSC Programs

All those E-5 and below currently serving at Luke AFB are eligible to receive a $20 monthly voucher for use at the Luke AFB Thrift Shop. Simply stop by the Thrift Shop when we are open (Wednesday’s & Friday’s 10am-2pm and the first Saturday of the month 9am-1pm and first Wednesday 10am-5pm) and ask the volunteers at the front for a voucher before you shop!
*Each voucher will be set to expire at the end of the month in which you receive. If you only use $16 out of the $20 voucher, you will have $4 remaining amount for that month to use until it expires.
-
There is a uniform closet located inside the Luke AFB Thrift Shop. This closet is filled with gently used uniforms and accessories, including stripes, hats, boots, and more! Everything in this room is FREE of charge for all those currently serving stationed at Luke.
*If you are not in uniform, we will ask to see an ID.
If the military member is not able to come pick up what they need, we are happy to assist spouses pick up a few limited items without you there.
-
One of the LSC programs closest to our hearts is the baby layette program that helps military families stationed at Luke welcome their new babies. All ranks are eligible - enlisted and officer for those currently serving at Luke. To receive your layette basket, please stop by the Thrift Shop during open hours within 60 days of the birth of your child.
The layette basket includes essentials gifts such as diapers, wipes, lotion, books, teethers, handmade blankets, and other items among the infamous ‘baby thunderbolt’ blanket.
*60 days is the suggested amount of time as the size of onesies and diapers are often for newborns.
-
One of the LSC’s newest programs is for Dorm Contingency Kits. These ‘kits’ are offered to airmen that may arrive late/after duty hours and need some essentials to help them get settled into the dorms. The LSC drops off supplies such as sheets, towels, pillows, hygiene items, toiletries and more to the unaccompanied dorm managers office quarterly.
These kits can be further coordinated through the Unaccompanied Housing office 623-856-8811.
-
The Cinderellas closet is a FREE service for the Luke AFB community. You are able to borrow from a plethora of dresses ranging in all sorts of colors, sizes and lengths! Purses, jewelry and suits are also available to borrow. We only ask that you bring them back dry cleaned for the next borrower.
LSC Sponsored Programs
-
The food pantry on Luke AFB is currently under construction, but an interim spot is located within building 465.
This is NOT an LSC program - However, the Luke AFB Thrift Shop houses a donation drop off from which donations are then transported to the food pantry. The LSC also supplies a monetary donation to the pantry twice a year.
-
Every first Tuesday of the month the LSC sponsors a home cooked/catered meal to the Oasis Day Room. This program is budgeted within each board year. We love cooking for our airmen!
*During the summer months, the LSC is usually on a hiatus. At the beginning of the summer we will take any remaining funds and stock the Oasis pantry.
These are just a small sampling of the programs we run and sponsor that we think you should know about! If you have any questions, ask!
