VA Holiday Luncheon:
Each year a group of LSC volunteers sponsors a holiday luncheon for the staff and patients of the mental health floor at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Central Phoenix. This is a highlight for staff and patients each year. Along with the LSC volunteers, a group of active duty Airman participate in the luncheon and visit with the patients. This event also results in a large donation to the Snack Pantry for the mental health floor.

Every year the Luke Spouses’ Club has the honor of hosting a luncheon with a group of patients at the local VA Hospital. Unfortunately, due to volunteer restrictions during the pandemic we have not been able to entertain the same ways we have in the past. However, those restrictions have not held the LSC back from lifting spirits during the holiday season!
The past few years, we were able to take the funding we would have spent on catering and instead purchased items off of a Christmas wish list. Together, we stocked their pantry with snacks & goodies, activity books, clothing items and more. This year, one of the items included was a cookie decorating kit. It looks like they enjoyed! We hope to be able to visit with our friends at the VA hospital next year and carry on the luncheon tradition, but if not we know we can pamper them regardless!
